Who is HYT for?

Any woman from the age of 35 years and above
Women from 35 years of age as a preventative therapy due to the decreasing ovarian activity and an associated gradual decrease in hormone production of the two main female hormones: oestrogen and progesterone.

what it is Exactly?
Hormone yoga therapy is a yoga practice that uses breathing techniques, yoga poses, and other techniques to balance hormone levels in the body. Dinah Rodriguez, a Yoga Teacher and Dr. of Psychology from Brasil, researched the effect of certain yoga practices on the endocrine system. From these studies she developed a set of specific exercises to reactivate the hormone production and recommends them to be practiced from the age of 35 to prevent Menopausal symptoms.
It has also shown to lessen the chance of later ailments like Osteoporosis or the chance for cardio-vascular diseases. In younger women it helps to improve fertility and to remove premenstrual symptoms, in men it helps to improve testosterone levels and prostate health. Over time the practice has also shown to be beneficial for most other hormonal imbalances, like Thyroid Dysfunctions, Diabetes Type 1 & 2 or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Moreover Hormone Yoga promotes a positive attitude towards the changes of Menopause in women, to be recognised as a natural and valuable phase leading to wisdom and maturity. A time in which new energies are set free and women can take more time for their own spiritual growth (Varnaprashta).
The hormonal system not only works differently depending on our age, but also reacts to changing living conditions. Stress is a big factor here and can noticeably throw the hormonal balance out of balance. The exercises themselves have a very good effect on the hormonal glands due to the targeted energy control and stimulation. With regular practice, hormone production can be increased by up to 200%. Olivia is a highly qualified and motivational Holistic Menstrual Health Specialist. She loves combining science and holistic wisdom to support women.
Having led Classes, Workshops and Retreats across the globe she has impacted thousands of peoples lives with her wellbeing practices. She has been teaching yoga since 2009 and has gone on to gain CPD’s in other modalities, which has all contributed to her becoming the teacher she is today.
Olivia has trained specifically in Menstrual Health going from the more spiritual trainings of the Priestess Apprentice to focusing on the body and more scientific practices when becoming Certified as a Period Coach, FEMM Instructor and Hormone Health Coach and Hormone Yoga Therapy Teacher.
From a diverse background she has a wealth & breadth of knowledge from years of dedication to self development. This shows up in the way she continually evolves and educates herself to passionately share this wisdom with others.

Contraindications for practicing Hormone Yoga
History of estrogen dominant breast cancer (medical permission needed)
Currently Pregnant (pregnant women should not practice HYT, but can practice prenatal Yoga)
Advanced endometriosis (medical permission needed)
Hyperthyroidism
Larger Fibroids/myoma (medical permission needed)
After a surgery until wounds are healed
Hypertension (uncontrolled – there are modifications)
Glaucoma/Detached Retina (contact me prior to registering)
